Beginning on Friday, the Maryland State Highway Administration will lower the speed limit on Route 50 business to improve safety in Wicomico County. The 55 mph speed limit will be lowered to 45 mph in the area between Civic Avenue and Hobbs Road in Salisbury. New signs will be installed to alert drivers of the change in the 2.7-mile section of the highway. A recently completed traffic study determined the speed reduction would improve safety for all highway users.
