pakistan‑international‑business‑netherlands‑china‑2026

Pakistan has recently taken significant strides to strengthen its international business engagements with major global partners in 2026. In Islamabad, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with the Netherlands during a constructive meeting with the Dutch Ambassador Robert Jan Siegert and a business delegation from Engro Corporation and Engro Vopak Terminal Limited. Both sides underlined the importance of long‑standing partnerships to support trade, attract foreign investment, and boost confidence within the global business community.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is also advancing strategic collaboration with China beyond traditional investment under CPEC, particularly in skills development and export potential. A new bilateral initiative is expanding vocational and international certification programs for Pakistani workers, such as welding training, resulting in direct employment opportunities with Chinese firms. Negotiators are now planning to broaden these efforts in 2026 to include more technical and trade‑related certifications to support Pakistan’s global competitiveness.

These developments come as Islamabad pursues export growth and seeks to diversify economic ties with friendly nations. The dual focus on investment cooperation and skills alignment positions Pakistan to enhance its footprint in global trade networks, attract foreign capital, and stimulate job creation in critical sectors.
