Pakistan and China are strengthening their international business cooperation with multiple initiatives aimed at boosting trade, investment, and workforce development this year. As part of the broader China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, both countries are negotiating expanded economic cooperation, including new vocational training programs to produce a globally competitive skilled workforce tailored to industry needs. Islamabad and Beijing are set to begin talks to expand skills production and certification, which have already led to internationally recognised training and job opportunities for Pakistani technicians in Chinese firms.
In the agricultural sector, Pakistan and China are accelerating joint investment and technology partnerships, with conferences and trade talks focusing on modernising agriculture and boosting bilateral agricultural trade — targeting a potential US $1 billion trade volume.
Discussions have also taken place on a proposed $2.2 billion maritime industrial complex at Port Qasim, aimed at modernising Pakistan’s port infrastructure to increase regional trade connectivity and facilitate smoother trade flows along sea and land routes.
These developments reflect an evolving economic partnership centred on mutual benefits — from workforce skill development to joint investments and enhanced trade infrastructure — that drives growth on both sides and contributes to broader regional integration.
