New Zealand advanced to the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup after defeating South Africa in the semi-final with a dominant nine-wicket victory. The match was highlighted by a record-breaking innings from New Zealand opener Finn Allen, who scored a sensational century off just 33 balls.

Allen’s explosive knock set a new record for the fastest century in the tournament’s history, surpassing the previous record held by Chris Gayle. His innings powered New Zealand to chase down a target of 170 runs in only 12.5 overs, sending the team comfortably into the final.

South Africa had earlier posted 169 runs in their 20 overs, but New Zealand’s aggressive batting lineup quickly dismantled the bowling attack. With this victory, New Zealand will now play the winner of the semi-final between India national cricket team and England national cricket team in the tournament final.

The 2026 edition of the T20 World Cup, hosted by India and Sri Lanka, has drawn massive global viewership and remains one of the most watched cricket tournaments worldwide.
